A CHRISTMAS GREETING FROM THE RUSSO'S

Sandy

Aside from being a mother, there is nothing in life that Sandy would rather do than teach.   Now in her second year at New Caney Elementary, her teaching duties have been less than typical.   Her mornings are spent teaching a class of first graders, but in the afternoon, she tutors one on one in a Reading Recovery program.   To prepare for teaching Reading Recovery, she went to a three hour class one night a week for nine months.   Her students are fortunate indeed.

Kimberly loves life.   She is the most level headed sixteen year old I know. A concientious student, she eagerly schedules AP and Honors classes and tackles them with glee.   When not rehearsing or working tech for a play, she can be found 'hitting' the books and the computer.   Last spring, in her Freshman year, she garnered a role in Clare Booth Luce's play, The Women.   We were all impressed with how she held her own with older, more experienced students.   She also had a role in Bye, Bye, Birdie and is currently in Alice In Wonderland. She constantly amazes us.   Now, if she could only keep her room clean. . .

As a fourth grader in the gifted and talented program at New Caney Elementary, Lex is a very active nine year old.   In spite of having PE every day in school, after school finds him participating in swimming, football, and soccer teams in season.   Training three days a week in Tae Kwon Do, he rapidly earned his blue belt.   He recently participated in his first weapons competition in Lafayette, LA, where, using the BO, he placed third.  He is a fanatic an enthusiatic Game Boy player.

In addition to their standard poodle, Kiki, and two cats, Misty and Thunder, they have welcomed into their family two rabbits, Spot and Thumper.
