A CHRISTMAS GREETING FROM THE RUSSO'S

Butch

Yes, he's enjoying retirement!

This year got off to a roaring start for Butch as he went on his first Buffalo hunt in January.   He drove to Colorado, had a great hunt and came back with a buffalo which he killed with a pistol specially made for him.   All of the meat was prepared by Butch and me for the freezer.   Grinding meat for chili and making sausage were chores which continue to reap benefits for family and friends as we enjoy the delicious meat.   That is, up to a point.   Now, when we invite Sandy over for a meal, she asks if we are having elk, buffalo, or venison before she accepts or declines accordingly.

In May, at age 87, after a lengthy illness, Butch's dad passed away.   He had a long, full life and he is missed.

One of the highlights of Butch's year was a hunting trip to Argentina.   Timing was the only thing which could have made this trip better as it came after only six weeks since his neck surgery.   If nothing else, he's a trooper.   He's as strong as an ox and twice as cute.

He made numerous hunting trips this year to feed his family.   He hunts them.   He cleans them.   He cooks them.   We eat them.   All 'organic' as he likes to say.
Butch, thank goodness, loves to cook.   He also enjoys stirring the proverbial 'pot' at his computer, where he maintains contact with friends from near and far.

For someone who had to be dragged, kicking and screaming, to a computer about ten years ago, Butch has come to love his laptop.   He sits in his easy chair and pounds away at the keys as he communicates with guys with whom he went to Military school forty plus years ago to people he has recently met.   With common interests, the globe has indeed become a small place as he expounds on subjects ranging from religion and politics to sports and jokes.
