Challenge
Frayed Knots & Colorful Expressions
You are invited to turn a bag of stuff into a work of art! It is very simple. If you chose to participate, you simply fill your bag with fabric and other stuff (the other stuff is optional). The bags will be exchanged and you will set about creating a masterpiece from the bag of stuff you received. You will not know whose bag you received nor will you know who received your bag. All will be revealed in February 2007.
There are a few rules......
1. Judi Leventhal and Juta Warren will be the coordinators for this project.
2. Your bag with Entry Form should be received no later than Thursday, July 6 for Frayed Knots and Friday, July 7 for Colorful Expressions. Earlier is OK.
3. Deadline for completion of quilt is Thursday, February 1, 2007 - NO EXCEPTIONS
4 Finished quilts will be distributed at bee Thursday, February 8, 2007 for Frayed Knots and Friday, February 9, 2007 for Colorful Expressions.
5. Bag size: One gallon zip closure. You may include any materials (fabrics, trims, embellishments, beads, buttons, etc.) that will fit in the bag. Place your gallon bag in an unmarked brown paper sack.
6. Finished quilt size limits: Minimum 20"on any size, maximum 30" on any side.
7. You may find yourself working with materials you are not used to. Look at this as an opportunity to expose yourself to something new and challenge your creativity. Try to use as much from the bag you receive as possible. You may add materials of your own.
8. Finished quilt should have a label on the back with the maker's name. A sleeve should be attached so the finished quilt is ready to display.
9. Unused materials should be returned to the bag owner with the completed quilt.
10. Enjoy the project and give it your best effort. It's fun to receive a quilt that is different than what you would have made for yourself.
